DAY 01 : Saturday flight to Medan, the capital of North Sumatra.

DAY 02: MEDAN (-/-/-)
On Arrival in Medan in the evening meeting with local guide then transfer to Santika Premiere Dyandra 4* hotel. Evening is at leisure to relax after flights.

DAY 03 : MEDAN (B/-/D)
After a leisurely breakfast, meeting with your guide for a city tour in Medan : Maimun Palace, a Royal Heritage, built in 1888 featuring Malay, Mogul and Italian architecture. The Great Mosque, built in 1906 – 1909 in a combination of Middle-Eastern, Spanish, and Indian style. Other visits include Kesawan Square, Tjong a fie mansion, Velangkani Church, Sri Mariaman temple. Evening Welcome dinner at local restaurant.

DAY 04: MEDAN - BUKIT LAWANG (B/L/-)
Morning pick up and drive to the village of Bukit Lawang (4.5 hours approx), which is a gateway to the Leuser National Park, one of the few places in the world where we can still see orangutans in their natural habitat. This is a very pleasant road journey alongside endless rubber & palm tree plantations. We stop en route to visit a crocodile farm in Kampung Lalang. Overnight at Bukit Lawang Ecolodge ( basic conditions, non a/c but in a perfect jungle location )

DAY 05: BAHOROK RESERVE – BERASTAGI (B/L/-). Weekdays only
Morning trek to see the Sumatran Orangutan at feeding time. Afternoon continue by road to Berastagi with stops on the way for waterfalls and traditional villages (approx 6 hours drive). Berastagi is a small town yet the main producer of fruit & veg and flowers in North Sumatra. The town's economy does not rely on tourism so visitors will see the locals getting on with their lives rather than hassling tourists to make a living. Overnight at Grand Mutiara hotel in Berastagi.

DAY 06: BERASTAGI – PARAPAT – SAMOSIR (B/L/-)
Morning pick up from your Hotel then drive to Parapat. Stop en route for the magnificent Sipiso Piso waterfall and Rumah Bolon (Long House), the old Palace of Batak Simalungun King. Afternoon arrive in Parapat and cruise on Lake Toba to the island of Samosir. Lake Toba is one of the wonderful natural wonders of the world. This enormous crater lake has an island in its centre ( Samosir island ) almost the size of Singapore. This is the largest lake in Southeast Asia and one of the deepest lakes in the world. On arrival check-in at Taboo Cottage in the quiet town of Tuk Tuk for overnight.

DAY 07: SAMOSIR EXCURSION (B/L/-)
After breakfast excursion by car visiting several Batak Toba traditional villages and Samosir attractions including Ambarita with the stone table & chairs, the execution place of Sialagan Kings. Then continue to Tomok for the ancient tomb of Sidabutar Kings. Finally to Simanindo to visit the Museum and enjoy Batak Toba traditional dance ( Tor-Tor).
Late afternoon return to hotel for overnight.

DAY 08: SAMOSIR – SIPIROK - PADANG SIDEMPUANG (B/L/-)
After breakfast boat ride back to Parapat and drive to Sipirok, en route stopping at pineapple, clove, and coffee plantations. Time for a stroll in the traditional market at Balige Sigur-gur and Sipoholon Hot Springs. Before arriving in Sipirok enjoy a nature walk on the bank of Sarulla river and terraced rice fields. Continue by car to Padang Sidempuan ( 2 hours drive ). Check into Mega Permata hotel for overnight. visit asia - tours to asia

DAY 09: PADANG SIDEMPUAN – BUKITTINGGI (B/L/-)
Leave for Bukittinggi, passing by Rimba Panti tropical rainforest. Stop en route to see some wild life and visit pepper, vanilla, cardamon and cinnamon gardens. After lunch cross the equator line at Bonjol and arrive at Bukittinggi, the charming town of Minangkabau. Overnight at The Hills Bukittinggi 4* hotel.

DAY 10: BUKITTINGGI (B/L/-)
Breakfast at hotel. Today we explore Bukittinggi, the capital of the Minangkabau people in West Sumatra. In 1825 it was a little town which was transformed into a Dutch outpost and fort by Captain Bauer and later named after the then Lieutenant Governor-General of the Dutch-Indies, Hendrik Merkus de Kock. Drive around town to see Fort De Kock, Kround Clock Tower (Jam Gadang) and the Japanese tunnel (During the Japanese occupation on the Dutch-Indies in World War Two, Fort de Kock was the headquarters for the Japanese 25th Army, the force that occupied Sumatra.
visit asia - tours to asiaAfter lunch visit the breathtaking Sianok Canyon (also called Ngarai Sianok) on the outskirts of this hill town in the Minangkabau highlands. Possibility of walking down into the gorge to a small village surrounded by paddy fields. A bridge over the river will lead to Kota Gadang, home to silversmiths who produce the finest filigree ornaments. Later in the afternoon drive to Lake Maninjau, another crater lake but much smaller than Lake Toba. Enjoy some relaxing time by the lake at sunset, sipping one or two Sumatra Mountain Browns. Overnight at The Hills Bukittinggi Hotel.

Day 11 : BUKITTINGGI – PADANG (B/L/-)
After breakfast drive to Padang. Guided visits in Padang include the Adityawarman Museum with its exhibition of items related to the Minangkabau's life, a leisurely stroll in Padang colonial quarter and a visit to Pasar Raya ‘big market’. For dinner don't forget to try famous Padang cuisine in one of the local restaurants in town. Overnight at Grand Inna Muara Hotel.

DAY 12: PADANG – CUBADAK ISLAND (B/L/D)
After breakfast, car transfer to harbour for a boat ride to Cubadak Island, off the coast of West Sumatra for 2 nights stay at Cubadak Paradiso Village (Beach Bungalow) on fullboard basis.

DAY 13: CUBADAK (B/L/D)
visit asia - tours to asia Day at Leisure for relaxation or snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, water skiing or hiking in the forest for bird watching. Your hotel provides non motorised-boat rides, snorkelling gear free of charge. Overnight at Cubadak Paradiso Village.

DAY 14: CUBADAK – PADANG – JAKARTA (B/-/-) Boat & car transfer to Padang Airport for an afternoon flight to the Capital Jakarta. On arrival car transfer to hotel. Overnight at 5* Borobudur.

DAY 15 : JAKARTA (B/-/-)
Day at leisure in Jakarta staying at the same hotel on bed & breakfast basis.

Day 16 : DEPARTURE (B/-/-) Sunday
Early morning car transfer to airport for flight home. Arrive home in the evening the same day.
